The Wall was spectacular, our seats were not.
I couldn't really see much of the event itself, not for the reasons the artist intended, so I can't say much about what I thought of it. The whole visual concept of this concert revolves around a giant wall, constructed throughout the first part of the show, which is then basically the only thing on stage for a portion of the 2nd part. Images are projected on a large screen above the band at first, and then on the wall itself later. This is a genius metaphor discussed throughout the songs and then displayed literally in front of you on stage. Awesome. Except for one thing. Our seats. We bought tickets with a section number listed as Press Box, which doesn't appear anywhere on the venue seating chart. When we arrived, we discovered that they were located perpendicular to the giant wall set piece, so we could basically see behind the wall, defeating the whole point of Tituss Burgess' vision for the show. It also makes it impossible to see most of the projected images! I don't even understand why these seats were available for purchase! Had I any way of knowing their location prior to purchasing, I would've tried for different seats, or possibly even paid for the next higher price range section. From what I could tell, this show is absolutely worth the higher ticket price for even moderate seats.
